There are club rides, meeting in Settle market place on Saturday afternoons at 1.00pm and Sunday mornings at 9.30am, or 10.00am in the winter months. These are usually around 50 to 70 kms, with the actual distance and average pace depending on the group ability and the weather. There is also a ‘Steady Group’ ride on a Saturday afternoon covering 30 to 40 kms at a 16 to 18 km/hr average pace.
Each summer we host a series of time trials starting from Bolton By Bowland.
On alternate Wednesday evenings during the summer months we run a 16.4 km time trial based at Bolton-by-Bowland (Course L112) and there is usually a chain gang session on a Thursday evening while there is adequate daylight.
We organise a warm weather club trip in the spring, usually to Mallorca and in recent years our members have also completed the Pyrennean Traverse, from Hendaye on the Atlantic coast to Cerbere on the Mediterranean, and the La Marmotte Granfondo in the Alps.
There are many excellent sportives held in the Yorkshire Dales, Cumbria and surrounding areas.
In recent years sportives have become increasingly popular with members, many of whom take part in the challenging Étape du Dales, for which we also provide marshals, as well as the Fred Whitton Challenge and the Cumbrian Cracker.
