Settle Wheelers Go-Ride sessions are returning with a number of changes.
Settle Wheelers Go-Ride training sessions will resume on Saturday 12th September at 9.30am at Settle College Tennis Courts – please note the new venue!
British Cycling stipulate that during the current Covid-19 situation, such training sessions must have a maximum of 5 riders per qualified coach, up to a total group size of 30, including coaches and assistants. This means that the number of riders that we can take on any given day is dependent on the number of coaches available for that session and therefore it is essential that you pre-register your child to attend, via the Go-Ride Facebook page. The coaches available and therefore the number of riders that we can accommodate on any given day will be posted on the Go-Ride Facebook page the week before each Saturday session and we will tell you when the session is full.
Go-Ride Health Questionnaire
Please complete a Covid 19 Health Questionnaire for each Go-Ride session your child attends.
The British Cycling Covid-19 Guidance, entitled ‘The Way Forward – Planning a safe return to sanctioned cycling activity & facility use’ is a lengthy, comprehensive document that we have extracted the basic requirements from to keep you informed of the latest developments. If you would like any more information on the latest guidelines, please use the following link: The Way Forward Issue 1
In order for Go-Ride sessions to re-commence safely, it is essential that British Cycling guidelines for group coaching activities are adhered to, with adequate social distancing of ‘1 metre plus mitigations’. The Go-Ride Coaches will endeavour to maintain an adequate social distance at all times, but will use face masks and surgical gloves if they need to administer first aid, or render assistance to any rider. The social distancing requirements also apply to parents or carers observing the sessions and masks or face coverings are not required if social distancing is maintained, but this is very much a matter of personal choice.
Please note that Settle Wheelers are supporting the Government/NHS Track & Trace system, so your contact details will be passed on to the relevant authority in the event of a rider/parent/carer testing positive for Covid-19.
What Do We Need From You?
Session fees remain at £2 per rider per session. Please bring the correct money, which can be put straight into the pot without the need to handle it or provide any change.
On confirmation of your booking for any given Go-Ride session, you will be asked to complete a short health questionnaire for your son/daughter, which should ideally be emailed to the club Welfare Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org or alternatively handed in at the start of the session.
Please note that a full risk assessment of the Settle College tennis courts has been carried out prior to their use for Go-Ride activities.
